In his hubris, Rictus thought he might control them, that he might herald his conquering of Haran on the crest of a black wave of the accursed. But there could be no alliance with Abaddon, the lord of the pit whose blessing is pain, whose enchantment is the wage of sorrow. He bound Rictus in the darkness of the abyss and every time a man fell to claw, tooth or blade, every time a woman or child burned to black flesh, choked to blue or starved to sallow skin, Rictus died their death and lived to die again. Several of us along with DontCamp have been playing the new Beta of Team Fortress 2 from Steam. If you haven't played it yet, you must if you love competition and great teamwork + gameplay. It brings back the classic battles of Team Fortress 1 from Quake 1 and Team Fortress Classic from Half Life in a whole new way plus new maps, graphics, and modes. Competition will be fierce in TWL and CAL. If you played with us now or in the past, we encourage you to join our Steam community at http://steamcommunity.com/groups/deadlynightcrew Participation in the Beta of TF2 can only occur with pre-ordering The Orange Box from Steam due for Oct 10th release. This includes HL2, HL2 : Ep 1 now and Portal, HL2 : Ep 2, and TF2 when released on Oct 10th for only $45. HL2 and HL2:Ep1 can be "regifted" through Steam to a friend on the Orange Box release. As we sit just after E3 and pre-Holiday, several of us have been kicking back waiting for the next big FPS to hop on competitively for the 2007/2008 game year. There are hope for Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, and some for Frontlines: Fuel of War. Whichever we choose, =DNC= will be there to be in your face and kick your ass. Some of our current favs in this lull are (pictured left to right) Desert Conflict (Battlefield 2 Mod), Guild Wars, Insurgency (Half-Life 2 Mod), World In Conflict (Beta), and Countstrike: Source - GunGame Feel free to hit us up on Teamspeak and join in!
